I love Formula 1. I have followed the sport since mid 2006, and the first race I actually understood was the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix, won by Felipe Massa, in the race that Fernando Alonso sealed his 2nd world championship. I liked Alonso from that race, and decided that I would support him from there on.
I started properly watching F1 in 2007, and was mesmerised by the rise of Lewis Hamilton. Still an Alonso fan, I enjoyed his victories in Malaysia and Monaco. However, it soon became clear that Alonso's relationship with his team was poor. Despite his strong performances, including wins at the Nurburgring and Monza, he couldn't win the championship and lost out to Kimi Raikkonen. Unsurprisingly, he left McLaren and joined Renault.
Two years in a poor car annoyed me, but I was really excited when he announced at the 2009 Japanese Grand Prix that he was joining Ferrari. F1 became a huge part of my life in 2010 as I enjoyed the F1 2010 season, a remarkable year of F1. Sadly for me, Alonso lost the world championship in the last round, but you win some, you lose some.
The next few months were painful. No F1, what to do! Finally when we got underway again in Australia, I was seriously hyped up. By Hungary, F1 was becoming a massive part of my life, and as I want to be a journalist, I set up this blog.
None of my family like Formula One, and so far I've never been to an F1 race. However, on 29th August 2011 I did travel to Manchester to watch a demo with Jenson Button driving the 2008 McLaren. That day met up with fellow users of my favourite F1 site, F1 Fanatic.
Apart from Alonso, my favourite drivers are Heikki Kovalainen, Sergio Perez and Jaime Alguersuari. Some of my favourite legends of F1 are Gilles Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost. My favourite tracks are Australia, Canada, Spa and Korea. Some of the best races I've watched are San Marino 2005, Brazil 2006, Brazil 2008, Korea 2010, Turkey 2010, China 2011, Canada 2011 and Britain 2011.
